This unit delivers VCE VM Literacy Unit 2, Area of Study 2: Responding to Opinions, and is built to meet Outcome 2, where students interpret the values and opinions of others, then present their own point of view orally, supported by evidence. Weeks 1 to 3 cover the interpreting half: understanding persuasion, appeals, satire and sourcing, then researching an issue. Week 4 covers the presenting half, building and delivering a persuasive oral. The assessment matches the study design's Outcome 2 tool exactly, an oral report, video, podcast or recorded debate, with the comparison and research tasks as supporting activities.
